It happened about 8am our time (-6 hours for you) I was furthest forward on the foredeck near the bow moving our Yankee 3 sail ready for a change. the sea state and wind had been building and it was a little rough. While there a big wave hit the bow and swept us off our feet. At the same time the bow dropped into the trough of the wave and away from me ( that weightlessness feeling like on a roller coaster) because i was no longer holding on, when i came down to the boat I was the wrong side of the guard wire. ie in the sea! However, because I am a good boy (as is the rest of the crew) I was clipped on and wearing my life jacket. so I was just dangling over the side of the boat, not swept away! O.B. was next to me and with incredible Hulk strength, lifted me to a point where i could get hold of the rail myself and then Mike reached us (both O.B. and Mike had also been hit by the wave!)and their combined effort was enough to haul me back on board!
well drama over and I have a few little bruises and one less shoe! but im fine. the training and equipment all did its job and everything is fine.
