Jimmy Sails World

Its Saturday 15th May. I have spent the glorious day so far by going for a 4 mile run around my local area and doing a spot of gardening with my best friend (and girlfriend) Julia. But more importaintly I am, for the first time ever, writing a blog! I am 36 and in many ways reasonably up on gadgets and tech but for some reason social networking sites and the like have passed me by. I have never tweeted anyone and for me writing a blog has always seemed a bit pointless for most people. I mean, who would want to read about my life? Well... I guess... YOU! and I'm glad you are because typing is not one of my greatest skills and this is taking me ages! But this is how it starts, Blog 1, I know this has not really talked about training but it will. I cant promise how often I'm going to blog either. Time is a factor as well as having something to say. But I will try and capyure all the importaint events (funny, sad, triumphant and painfull) and I hope you will join me, and perhaps be inspired, because if I can do this, YOU CAN TOO!

So long for now, James

Its like Jim Kirk but without the star dates and I'm not the captain!

Well here is where you can get to find out a little more about how I'm getting on in my quest for adventure.

I aim to keep you posted on my training (both how I cope with learning to sail and how I am getting into shape for the race), How I am doing with regards to funding and how much money I have raised for good causes.

I intend on this to be a journal of everything connected to this epic adventure, so at times it may be funny, sometimes full of grumbles and sometimes down right crazy! but I hope at all times it will reflect my experiences and feelings at the time.

    So watch this space!!!
